Yeshua = Messiah Proof that Yeshua is the coming Messiah
Proof 1 • The most convincing of all my proofs: Prophecies. • There are at least 30 prophecies that clearly state who the Messiah would be and what He came to do.
Examples! • According to the Hebrew Scriptures the Messiah would be • A performer of miracles (Isa. 35:3-6) • A teacher of parables (Ps. 78:2) • Rejected by his kinsmen (Isa. 53:3) • For the sins of humanity (Isa. 53:12) • Yet raised from the dead (Isa. 53:11; Ps. 16:10)
You got it! More Examples! • According to the Hebrew Scriptures the Messiah would be… • Ascended to the right hand of G-d (Ps. 68:18) • Returning in glory (Isa. 59:19,20) • Sold for thirty pieces of silver (Zech. 11:12) • Crucified (Ps. 22:16; Zech. 12:10)
Think. • Here's something to wrap your mind on: There is about a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 percent chance of someone fulfilling ALL of these prophecies, and how many people in HISTORY have fulfilled all of the Messianic Prophecies? Here's the answer: 1. • 1 person in the History of the world has fulfilled all of these prophecies, and that person is Yeshua. • A lot of prophets have prophesied about the Messiah's character and job, and Yeshua is the only one who actually fulfilled all of the prophecies. • So, how does that affect your life?
Proof 2 • The next proof which isn’t really the most convincing: how Yeshua relates to Jewish Holidays.
Afikomen • At Jesus' Last Supper, He gave His disciples matzoh, which are the crackers/bread used in the Afikomen recipe, and the matzoh is stripped, unleavened, and pierced, just as Isaiah the prophet predicted the Messiah would be at His death. It's in Isaiah 53:5.
Wait… WHAT?!?!?! Passover • In the first Passover, or Pesach, the Hebrews sacrificed an unblemished lamb and put the blood on their doorframe, and the angel of death would come at midnight and kill the firstborn of every household that didn't have lamb's blood on the doorframe. In a way, this represents Jesus because He was the lamb that was sacrificed to save us from sin, which is represented by the angel of death.
Yom Kippur • In Yom Kippur you have Hebrew families fasting for the L_rd's atonement for their sins, but Messiah believers know that Jesus was and is the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Proof 3 • Not really as convincing as Prophecies: Pictures of Yeshua. • There are many famous people in the Bible, and their stories are very well known. But what many people don't know is that a lot of these famous people depict Yeshua.
Some Pictures • 1: Issac depicts the Messiah as being sacrificed. • 2: Moses depicts the Messiah as being a meditator. • 3: Boaz shows the Messiah as being a redeemer.
Very Good Picture • 4: Here's a REALLY good one: David. • David was a great picture of the Messiah because he was ALMOST sinless, like the Messiah, and the events that went on in his lifetime were in a way similar to the events in Yeshua's life. • a:) Though David was going to reign over Israel, he was rejected by his brothers, as where Yeshua was rejected by His own people. • b:) David's battle with Goliath is similar to Yeshua's battle with sin. If He won, then it would be everyone's victory. But if He lost, then the world would be captivated by sin for eternity. • There are more events in their lives that were similar, but I am not going to list them all to save time.
