  4. Is about “connecting” Can be authentic Can utilize the strengths you already possess Can be customized to you Real networking

  5. Reflective Focused (go deep) Self-reliant Prefer one to one socializing Discussion: what is introversion?

  6. Verbal Expansive (go wide) Like external stimulation Like group socializing Discussion: What is extraversion?

  9. It can be a “real” relationship You can be your “authentic” self You do not always have to be charming Who can you get to know…..perhaps for life? Re-frame networking

  11. 100 letters or 10 letters? Conversing at a tailgate or over coffee? Setting up a phone call via an email or calling directly? Sending a “Thank you” card or sending a “Holiday” card What is better?

If a $500.00 check was linked to each new phone contact you generated, could you do better? • Got monopoly money? • Play with a friend…….give back $500.00 for each week no contact is generated • Can I make attempts at 3 new contacts a week? (alumni network, Linked-in, Smeal connect) • For each person I already know (e.g. friends, family, former co-workers) can I make can I get 2 contacts from each of them? Turn it into a challenge
