  2. Haggai • Wrong Priorities (What Comes First?) • My house and prosperity first 1:1-4 • Give to God afterwards 1:5-11 • Consider 1:5, 7 (To put, upon, heart) • Why are things so bad? Blame God! • Consider 2:15, 18 • When did things get so good? Credit self! • Think! Rom. 12:1-2, Isa. 1:18, Prov. 23:7

  3. Haggai • Wrong Concept of Glory (Discouraged) • Godly Men Get Discouraged: Ezra 3:2, 8, • Hagg. 1:1, 12, 14, 2:20-23 • Foundation laid: Ezra 3:10-13, Hagg. 2:1-3 • New temple will have more glory 2:4-9 • Jn. 2:14-21 Jesus enters the Temple

  4. Haggai • Wrong Concept of Holiness 2:10-19 • Holiness is not contagious 2:12 • Born a Jew, Jerusalem, Temple • Personal purification needed • Uncleanness is contagious 2:13 • Defiled men cannot offer holy sacrifices • Obedience will bring rewards 2:14-19

  5. Haggai • Wrong Priorities: We need to obey God first and then He will bless us • Wrong Idea of Glory: Spiritual surpasses Physical glory • Wrong Concept of Holiness: Not obtained by casual affiliation with holy other things or people that are holy
