An Aside on the Horrors of Abortion on “Right to Life” Sunday Genesis 1:26-27 – “created in His image” Over 57,000,000 deaths since Roe vs. Wade 1973 How many apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, Sunday School teachers, missionaries? Winning teams value the “farm system” of raising up the next generation: baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc.

  5. Winning Teams Keep the Goal in Clear Focus It’s Not About Us – Its About Jesus! God’s Commission to His Church:* Go and make disciples(learners) of all nations* Baptizing themin the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit* Teaching themto observe all things I have commanded you

  6. Winning Teams Get Serious About Instruction to Improve Performance Winning teams train to improve! 1 Timothy 4:7 – “train yourself for godliness!” Training means improving by replacing unproductive habits with godly habits * discipline of prayer * discipline of the Word BelaKarolyi

  7. Winning Teams Embrace/RehabTheir Wounded Vs. 22 – 25 - Goal: same care for one another! The Body rallies to the weak member:White bloodcells rally againstinfection! So, when a brother/sister stumbles:Matthew 18:15 – “go to him in private” Galatians 6:1 – “restore in spirit of gentleness” (goal: seek confession, repentance, restoration)

  8. Winning Teams ValueVariety in Service “different strokes for different folks!”vss. 14 – “The body is not one member, but many”King of the Hill attitudes vs. Cooperation and respectProblem:* Jesus in your co-laborer* exalting self at expense of others (vs. 21)

God Accomplishes Together What We Cannot Alone • 4,822 missionaries = 266,451 baptisms in 2012 • 24,073 new churches in 2012 • Locally, New Work Foundation = 26 new churches since 2006 Goal: 60 new churches by 2027 • Cooperation works! • Flat Creek: Sunday School + youth + children+ music + Awana + 2 services = Kingdom grows!

How and Why to Join The Winning Team @ Flat Creek * By transfer/statement of faith – Matt 16* By confession of faith / baptism Why?1) in salvation, God calls us to community “and there were added that day about 3,000 souls” (Acts 2:41). 2) Spiritual service is inextricably tied to growth to spiritual growth (1 Peter 4:10).
