  3. What can you Compare? • The Plot (Sequence of events) • The Setting (Time and place) • The Characters (People or animals) • The Problems (Obstacles) • The Themes (Central Meaning) • The Solutions (…of the problem)

  4. The Plot • Use a timeline to show the sequence of events in each story. • Sometimes you need to make a line of the steps you have to take according to the text you are reading.

  5. The setting • Where did each story happen? • What was the time period (time of day, day of the week, month, season or year)?

  6. The Characters • Who were the people in the story (give names)? • If there were not any people, were there any animals?
