Final Exam • The final exam will consist of two parts; • Midterm portion - all material from the midterm. • Only those with midterm scores below 80 are required to take this portion of the exam, it is optional for those with score of 80 or above. • Post-midterm material will consist of • Interpretation & Classification lecture (9_classification.ppt) • Ocean Color lecture (10_ocean_color.ppt) • 4 group presentations • All students are required to take this portion of the test.
Final Exam Midterm portion; • Focus on material from midterm exam, quizzes, and exercises. • Re-visit powerpoint material that applies to what is covered in above. • Everyone needs to turn in their original midterms at the exam. • If you’re not sure if you take part 1, or not, check with me today!
Post-midterm material All students take this portion of the test. • Interpretation & Classification lecture – make an outline • Ocean Color lecture – see my review outline • 4 group presentations – prepare short answers • Come prepared to write a shortparagraph (3 - 4 sentences) that illustrates an application of remote sensing for each of the 4 larger group topics.
Paragraph that illustrates an application of remote sensing; • Describe a study, what was the research question, what satellite sensor(s) and its data was being utilized in the study, which parts of the EMS were used, was there any other non-imagery data used, what were the results from the study? • Paragraphs must be neat and coherent. • If I can’t read it or make sense of it I will not grade it.
Grading • ASSIGNMENTS/QUIZZES 20% • MIDTERM EXAM 35% • GROUP PRESENTATION 15% 70% GTD • FINAL EXAM 30% • Part 1 = 15%, Part 2 = 15%
