  1. How To Overcome Memory Ballooning And Swapping Issues? Presented By: Opvizor www.opvizor.com

  2. Introduction: • Memory ballooning and Memory swapping: These 2 are the commonly occurred error in the massive VMware environment. • In VMware environment it is important to allocate the resource for the VM, but Virtual machines are not aware of resources used by the other VM’s. • If the allocated resources for 3 VM’s used by only 2VM’s, then the VM is able to recognize.

  3. Memory Ballooning & Swapping: • To fix the above issue a balloon driver was installed in the guest operating system, to identify the available memory resources. • If it finds the memory resources then it occupies that memory and doesn’t allow the VM’s to work with those memories. • Balloon driver asks the hypervisor to allocate those memory resources. • Spontaneously memory ballooning leads to Memory swapping.

  4. The vmmemctlDriver • Memory control driver called as vmmemctl is also installed while you installed the VMware tools. • This driver is not capable of fixing the memory issues, but it was designed to produce alerts when there is a lack of resources and memory. • Making use of more physical resources can also reduce the risk of memory ballooning.
