  4. Titan Triggerfish 2.5 feet long Hunting behaviors: Squirting water Flapping fins Flip over their prey Prey on crabs and worms

  5. Stinging tentacles Safe place for anemonefish to lay eggs Feeds on plankton Gathers into a bunch at night Sea anemone

  6. Anemonefish (Nemo) -mucus on the skin to protect from tentacles-the anemone is a safe place to lay eggs-act as a guard for the anemone

  7. Overfishing • Divers squirt toxins into reef • Reef blown up to catch fish • Global Warming • Causes bleaching on reefs • Fish diversity has decreased Dangers to the Coral Reef

  8. ~Ways to save the Coral Reef~ Conserve Water Reduce pollution Use organic fertilizers Plant a Tree Practice safe and responsible diving and snorkeling Spread the Word!!

  9. Why save the Coral Reef? • Supply food to 500 million people • Protect the beaches • Home to 25% of the world’s marine fish • Used for treatment of cancers, HIV, heart disease SAVE THE CORAL REEF!
