Homework-4F The Mischievious Muppets Make sure you are a good learner….don’t stay stuck! If you’re not sure of anything, please ask! Don’t leave it until the last minute!! Weeks 5 & 6- Term 1 - 2014 burton.katherine.l@edumail.vic.gov.au Maths Spelling Don’t forget to practise your spelling words that you have written in your diary. Make sure you write your 8 weekly words out twicea week in your Homework Book. If you find an exciting way to practise your words, let us know about it on the blog under the homework post. Tables Your maths taskthis fortnight is to talk to your family about something you did in maths this fortnight. Write down something that you are proud of or achieved this fortnight. • Go onto the mathsblog http://sites.berwickfieldsps.vic.edu.au/madaboutmaths/ and complete the weekly challenge for BOTH weeks! Don’t forget to enter it into the box at the office! If you don’t have access to a computer, do it during eating time at school or go to the library/multi media labs during recess or lunchtime on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday!! Reading Record Don’t forget to record your reading in your diary!Write the title of the book in each day, even if you just read a page, record the page number/s that you read or the amount of time that you read for. Then get mum or dad to sign your diary at least once a week. Remember your diaries are due EVERY Friday! Reminder: You can keep the same book for more than one night and record the title again and pages you read each time.. Reading Record Spelling T Spelling Focus on these skills while completing your homework • Organisation: • Have you set aside time to complete your homework so it is handed in on time? • Presentation: • Have you ruled a margin on each page? • Handwriting: • Have you set your work out neatly so that others can read it? • Reading practice: • Have you read and recorded your reading each day? • Spelling practice: • Have you practised your spelling? • Persistence • Have you given each task a red hot go? Physical Education Challenge Homework Checklist Reading Record Acrostic poem. This fortnight you are being asked to create two Acrostic Poems using a) your first name as well as b) your class name. You need to include full sentences and be creative with the words you use to create it. The sentences you create should relate to your personality or who you are as a person. For Example A- Always ready to smile M- Mighty Smart Y- Young at heart Decorate these Acrostic Poem however you like, remembering to use pictures and decorative writing to make it look Amazing! You may come and ask me if you would like some paper to use to decorate this to present to the class. Be prepared to share your acrostic poem with the grade when homework is returned! Good Luck! English • This fortnight includes a physical activity task aimed at getting you to think about the ways in which you can be active at home. • Star Jumps… • How many star jumps can you do in 2 minutes? Using a watch, timer or stopwatch, complete as many star jumps as you can in 2 minutes. Complete this activity everyday for a week (or at least 5 Days) and record the results. It is up to you how you show your results. • Recordwhat was your best days score? • Your challenge is to complete all this activity and record your data in your homework book. • Good luck! • Check out our class blog! • Place a post up about how you can fill someone’s bucket!
