  5. Victor Cruz • Victor was born in Paterson, New Jersey. Paterson was one of the most violent cities in the nation, but Victor managed to stay out of trouble. He pursued two things he loved, football and dancing. His grandmother taught him how to salsa when he was 11. He pays tribute to her whenever he scores a touchdown. Football was Victor’s first love, but basketball was the sport that ruled the playgrounds in Paterson. In 2000, he enrolled at Paterson Catholic High School.
