  1. Analyzing Rhetorical Appeals (After Sections 6-7): Analyzing Pathos (1 paragraph response):  What emotional appeals does Krakauer utilize to get the reader to care about Chris? Look for evidence of details that Krakauer includes to appeal to the audience’s emotions (things like Chris’ compassion, charity, intelligence, youth, quotes from his family and people who genuinely like him, etc.)
