  1. Which foods do you buy organic and why? Organic ingredients you must buy today! In this age and time, organic food is available in abundance out there in the market. Every product you have on your kitchen shelf or in the fridge has an organic alternative. From fruits and vegetables, to pulses and grains, to even dry fruits & masalas, there is an organic and healthier option available. While we do understand it is extremely difficult to make sure every item you buy is organic, we are here to ease it out for you. In this article we are going to highlight a list of items that one must consider having organic. 1. Rice: Rice is one of the most commonly used ingredients in our everyday lives. There are comfort foods and delicacies we enjoy thanks to this grain. As much as we love it, the conventional rice we consume each day retains a certain percentage of pesticides and chemicals even after being cooked. Which is why, it is best to buy organic rice.

  2. 2. Millets and cereal grains: Millets have been a key part of the Indian diet for centuries, grown as much for their nutritional value -- they are gluten free and a rich source of protein and fiber, as they are for their short growth cycle. But millets that are grown and processed aren't as "wholesome" if they are grown using chemicals, are they? That’s why organically grown grains are better for you. 3. Wheat flour: Wheat flour or commonly known as chakki atta is another commonly used ingredient in our kitchens. We make the softest rotis and the fluffiest pooris with wheat flour, but along with being tasty, it is important to eat healthy too. The husk of the wheat grain contains various chemicals when grown using conventional farming methods, but completely clean when grown organically. 4. Spices/masalas: These are the ingredients that add the flavour to our food. They enhance the taste of everything we eat. To be honest, if it wasn’t for these masalas, our food would taste very bland. And when these ingredients are grown using conventional methods, we end up consuming toxic chemicals along with flavour. Which is why, you must add pure, organic masalas to your food. The best thing about the above mentioned list is that they are competitively priced when compared to conventional foods. We also know that there are different brands out there that claim to be organic. How do you differentiate? You look for the organic certifications on the packaging. One such brand that helps you choose better is Organic Tattva. They are certified 100% organic by various organic organizations.
