THE R.A.F The Luftwaffe • The RAF had more fuel to fly the planes. • What saved us was the fact that we had radar so we had a 25 minute warning for any planes. • The RAF bombed at night which was an advantage because it made the planes more difficult to detect. • The Germans didn’t have as much fuel which meant they didn’t have as much time as the RAF on their bombing runs. • Unfortunately they didn’t have the use of radar. • The Germans bombed in the day time so it was easier for us to shoot the fighter planes down, and then the bomber planes.   3. All about the Battle of Britain What happened?? • In July 1940, Hitler gave orders for the preparation of sea born invasion on Britain, called operation (sea lion). To make this easier, he sent the Luftwaffe (German Air force) to destroy Britain's Royal Air Force First. • It ended on the 31st of October 1940, due to the fact that the RAF damaged most of the known the Luftwaffe planes.   4. The R.A.F The most powerful fighter planes in the RAF were the spit fire and hurricane. If the soldiers were caught by the enemy they were put in Pow camps which ment prison of war camp. Did you know the symbol of the RAF was a blue, white and red target.
