  2. Poster Based on a true story – attracts people to watch it. Face of a girl; protagonist. Facial expression, looks very frightened, confused. Famous actresses, the movie must be good since the actors are very well known. Title, looks handwritten which could suggest that the movie has a very personal story. The strip of torn paper looks like notes, maybe a diary which fits in with the genre as it is coming of age; finding out who you are, you find out secrets through a diary. Tagline, describes the movie. Black background, very little of it therefore the focus is on the face. Credit block. Website for the movie.

  3. Poster The characters clothing suggests that he is still in school which means that he is still very young therefore it relates to the movie as he is young and on some kind of journey. Ratings to show what other people have thought of the movie therefore it recommends itself to the public. BBFC ratings, the stars show that the movie was good quality which sells itself to the public. Colourful title which stands out, the different colour may relate to the comedic side of the film, it also stands out from the background as the colours contrast and match the rest of the writing on the poster. “A Richard Ayoade film” – fairly new and young. A young character which relates itself to the genre of “coming of age”. Credit block.

  4. DVD cover Awards won, this sells the movie to the public. Bright Background which links to the movie title; sunshine and yellow. Variation of characters, from young to old, lots of people could relate to it. Abigail Breslin usually plays a humorous character. “Sunshine” is in bold so it stands out. Tagline; people could relate to it. The font is very informal which could suggest that is presents a personal story to the audience.
