  8. Încă de pe vremea romanilor era socotită pasăre sfântă "avis pia et benigna" considerată la fel şi astăzi în multe zone. Multe credinţe populare se leagă de această pasăre: aduce primăvara, aduce noroc casei unde îşi face cuibul şi o fereşte de foc şi fulger, poate prevesti  belşugul, norocul, starea sănătăţii .
