CHOOSING A CAREER IS A BIG DECISION – But you don't have to sweat it—planning for your future is not something you do all at once. It's a continuous process.
Take a realistic look at your strengths, weaknesses, and interests. Consider: • What types of work and school courses and activities appeal to you? • What interests you? • What do you do well now, and what skills have you gained through experience? • What values do you have regarding work?

BHS Graduation Requirements • 4 Years of English • 4 Years of Math • 3 Years of Science • 3 Years of Social Studies • 1 Year of Physical Education • .5 Credit of Comprehensive Health • 1 year of Fine Art or Vocational • 5.5 Elective credits 22 credits required for graduation
Your GPA – Figure it out! Step 1 – Assign a number to your letter grade A = 4 D =1 (Oops!) B = 3 F = 0 (Ouch!) C = 2 Step 2 – Add up the “Grade Points” Step 3 – Divide “Total Grade Points” by the number of classes you have taken. Your GPA is the number you get after your divide “Grade Points” by the number of classes you have taken.
Class Rank • The student transcript reports both the weighted and unweighted cumulative grade point average. Class rank is based on the weighted cumulative grade point average. New Valedictorian/SalutatorianRequirements Starting with the Class of 2015 • Basha High School wants to give all students an equal chance to become their school’s valedictorian or salutatorian. New guidelines have been developed. Please see the last page for details.

Things to Remember • You have received your 2nd semester classes, final changes are due by December 6th. • Grades start now! If you fail at semester, you will need to repeat the class for credit. • Get to know your teachers and counselors, they will be able to help for your future! • Make smart choices in all aspects of your life.
