Senate Bill 1298 • Purpose is for DG deployment to have minimal impact on air quality • Requires emission limits of smaller DG sources to ultimately meet central station power plant limits • Requires limits to reflect electricity and useful heat provided 3
SB 1298 Requirements • After January 1, 2003, every DG unit in California either certified by ARB or permitted by district • Required ARB to develop certification program for exempt technologies • Required ARB to develop guidance document for permitted technologies 4
