  1. TeO2 Polarizing Optics– Glan Prisms

  2. Company "Elent A/Elent Technics" has more than 20 years experience in manufacturing and processing of TeO2 crystals. Based on our own production and technical capabilities we now offer to our Customers TeO2 Polarizing optics - Glan and Wollaston prisms as well as Beam Displacers. Prisms can be manufactured with air clearance and glued depending on Customer specific requirements. Together with stable quality we offer prisms with high aperture (40 mm and up) and perfect material uniformity that provides high polarization level. Below in this presentation you will find information about Glan Polarizing Prisms. We offer quality and stability!

  3. General Information • All polarizing optics based on TeO2 has parameters not worse than: • Extinction ratio - 1:100000 • Power capability - 200 MWt/cm2 • Scratch/Dig - 20/10 • Flatness - ¼ λ(633 nm) • X-Ray oriented: 3 min. Angle tolerance: 2 min. • We can put AR coating on in and out prism faces for selected wavelength with R<0,2%. • Also we offer multilayer broadband AR coatings to in and out prism faces with following parameters: • AR coating 370 - 460 nm - R<0,5% • AR coating 440 - 750 nm - R<2% • AR coating 450 - 600 nm - R<0,5% • AR coating 700 - 1000 nm - R<0,75% • AR coating 1000 - 1400 nm - R<0,5%

  4. Glan Polarizing Prism • We offer to use prisms with air clearance for 4 wavelength ranges with basic wavelength (for this wavelength prism aperture is maximum and symmetric α = 2α1= 2α2): • Violet: 370 - 460 nm basic wavelength is 405 nm α = 4,55º • VIS: 440 - 750 nm basic wavelength is 532 nm α = 4,25º • NearIR: 700 - 1800 nm basic wavelength is 800 nm α = 4,07º • MiddleIR: 1000 - 5000 nm basic wavelength is 1330 nm α = 4,00º • Design with air clearance allows effectively use prism in Violet and MiddleIR ranges. • Surface stress effects are minimum that allow to get maximum uniform polarization field. • By-turn gluing will increase angle aperture and increase usable range. • Glued Glan prisms on TeO2 we offer to use for 2 ranges: • VIS: 430-700 nm basic wavelength is 514 nm and angle aperture becomes α=7,69º • IR: 650-5000 nm basic wavelength is 1330 nm and angle aperture becomes α=6,25º

  5. TeO2 Glan Polarizing Prism (with air clearance) Violet Range (370 - 460 nm) Main Characteristics Basic wavelength is 405 nm Ordinary beam transmission coefficient Angle Aperture Maximum angle aperture at 405 nm is symmetric and equal to 4,55 degree Тоfor 405 nm at normal incidence is 94 %

  6. TeO2 Glan Polarizing Prism (with air clearance Visible Range (440 - 750 nm) Main Characteristics Basic wavelength is 532nm Ordinary beam transmission coefficient Angle Aperture Maximum angle aperture at 532nm is symmetric and equal to 4,25 degree Тоfor 532nm at normal incidence is 91 %

  7. TeO2 Glan Polarizing Prism (with air clearance) Near IR Range(700 - 1800 nm) Main Characteristics Basic wavelength is 800nm Ordinary beam transmission coefficient Angle Aperture Maximum angle aperture at 800nm is symmetric and equal to 4,07degree Тоfor800 nm at normal incidence is 89 %

  8. TeO2 Glan Polarizing Prism (with air clearance) Middle IR Range(1000 - 5000 nm) Main Characteristics Basic wavelength is 1330nm Ordinary beam transmission coefficient Angle Aperture Maximum angle aperture at 1330nm is symmetric and equal to 4,00degree Тоfor1330nm at normal incidence is 88 %

  9. TeO2 Glued Glan Polarizing Prism Visible Range (430 – 700 nm) Main Characteristics Basic wavelength is 514nm Ordinary beam transmission coefficient Angle Aperture Maximum angle aperture at 514nm is symmetric and equal to7,69degree Тоfor514 nm at normal incidence is 79 %

  10. TeO2 Glued Glan Polarizing Prism IR Range (650 – 5000 nm) Basic wavelength is 1330nm Ordinary beam transmission coefficient Angle Aperture Maximum angle aperture at 1330nm is symmetric and equal to6,25degree Тоfor1330 at normal incidence is 80 %

  11. TeO2 Polarizing Optics Possible application TeO2 Polarizing prisms can be used as a substitution of natural calcite (CaCO3) prisms so as nowadays it is very complicate to extract last one with good uniformity ratio and sizes for big aperture. Moreover TeO2 prisms are the best variant for Middle IR range 1 - 5 mkm. Polarizing Optics based on tellurium dioxide makes a good showing as image polarizer in Acousto-optic Tunable filters and Spectrometers for IR range.
