THE FOUR PARADISES OF THE BIBLE Paradise = Gr. Paradisos– pleasure ground; a garden;. It is associated with the Garden of God. 1. The Garden of Eden - (Gen. 2:8) Though the “Garden of Eden” isn’t called a paradise in the English, the Hebrew words used to describe paradise are “pardes” and “gannah” which have to do with gardens and fruit trees. In the OT, a paradise is a garden environment of beauty, health, safety, pleasure and prosperity. The Persians created such enclosed gardens and placed animals in them for enjoyment and hunting. Forget it guys! No hunting Allowed In God’s paradise
THE FOUR PARADISES OF THE BIBLE 2. Inside the earth. - Mat 12:40 Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so the Son of Man shall be three days and three nights in the belly of the earth. Luk23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Truly I say unto you, Today you will be with me in paradise.
ALL DEAD BEFORE THE NEW COVENANT WENT INTO THE BELLY OF THE EARTH Sheol = Hadace is in the “belly of the earth” Num. 16:33; Mt. 12:40 SHEOL Paradise Torment The Abyss Bottomless pit • The righteous and un-righteous dead in Sheol/Hadace were separated from one another. (See – Deut. 32:22; Ps. 86:13; Lk. 16:20-26) • The righteous went into “Sheol/Hadace/Paradise” the unrighteous into “Sheol/Hadace/Torment” • The righteous part of Sheol/Hadace is called Abraham’s Bosom and Paradise. (Lk. 16:22; 23:43)
WHY? - THE BLOOD OF ANIMALS COULDN’T TAKE AWAY SIN. Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his “own blood” he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemptionfor us
Joh1:29 The next day John seeing Jesus coming unto him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world. Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
No one ever went to the Third Heaven Before Jesus died and shed his blood! Joh 3:13 And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. • Because Jesus was God in the flesh his body could only be one place at a time, but as God and as a Spirit Jesus was simultaneously Omnipresent on earth and in heaven as well as everywhere present. (See Jer. 23:24; Matt. 18:20) Ps. 139:7 Where shall I go from your Spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, You are there: if I make my bed in Hell/Sheol, behold, You are there.
Didn’t Elijah Go to Heaven When He was Caught Up In A Whirlwind? 2Ki 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. There are three heavens in the bible 1. The atmosphere (Ex. 9:22) 2. Outer Space (Deut. 1:10) 3. The Third heaven where God’s throne is. (I Cor. 12:2)
THERE IS LITTLE DESCRIPTION IN THE BIBLE OF ABRAHAM’S BOSOM OR PARADISE IN THE BELLY OF THE EARTH The righteous went there. People wereconscious there. They could remember. Family members were gathered together. Gen. 25:8; 35:29; 37:35; 49:29; Num. 20:24 They were comforted there. Lk.16:25 It is referred to by Jesus it as a “paradise” which indicates it had a garden environment. Jesus was in paradise during his three day stay in the belly of the earth. Mt. 12:40; Lk. 23:43
AFTER THE RESURRECTION JESUS TOOK CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE Eph4:8-10 Wherefore he said, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? (10) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. (Partial Quote from Ps. 68:18-20)
Possible interpretations 1. Christ led captivity captive in that God, through the redemption He brought, releasing sinners from the domain of darkness, and transferred them into Christ’s kingdom. 2. It specifically refers to the righteous dead in Sheol removed to the third heaven Apart from Eph. 4:8-10 there is no direct statement of people leaving Sheol to go to the third heaven. Even so, there is no reason for the righteous to be in Sheol/Hadacetoday because the blood of Jesus was applied to them as well.
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
The False Doctrine of “Jesus Born Again In Hell” The work on the cross by Jesus was insufficient to atone for our sins. Jesus died physically, spiritually and literally became sin. He took on the nature of Satan. He was tormented by demons and flame in hell. It was in the torments of hell that Jesus was born again and won the victory so we could be saved.
Origen of doctrine – Demons I Tim. 4:1 E. W. Kenyon… Father of the Word of Faith movement. He derived his doctrine from Christian Science and New Thought Cults. Kenneth Hagin took and plagiarized the teachings of Kenyon though he claimed divine revelation and brought them to the mainstream church via the contemporary Word of Faith movement.
Many, not all, Word of Faith teachers teach that Jesus had to die spiritually on the cross, that our redemption was not secured on the cross but in hell, and that Jesus had to be reborn in hell. Advocates of the doctrine Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyers, Fred Price, Cleflo Dollar, Tom Brown, Paula White, plus many more. Always be cautious when you hear that the death of Christ on the cross wasn’t sufficient to pay for our sins! You can easily google their heretical quotes concerning this subject "You will not be able to understand the authority in the name of Jesus until you understand this fact Down in the prison house of suffering down in hell itself Jesus satisfied the claims of justice on the behalf of each one of us, because He died as our substitute“ “The Name of Jesus” p. 33 Kenneth Hagin
The Four paradises of The Bible 3. The third heaven - II Cor. 12:4
EXCEPT FOR JESUS, THERE ARE ONLY TWO MEN RECORDED IN THE BIBLE OF GOING TO THE THIRD HEAVEN WHILE ALIVE 1. The Apostle Paul 2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knows;) such an one caught up (harpadzo) to the third heaven. 3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knows;) 4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
2. The Apostle John Rev 4:1-2 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up here, and I will show you things which must be hereafter. (2) And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
THE FOUR PARADISES OF THE BIBLE 4. The New Jerusalem on the New Earth - Rev. 2:7; 21:2 Rev 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (see Rev. 22:2)
NEXT MESSAGE – “THE THIRD HEAVEN” The third heaven is where we go if we were to die or if we were raptured. We will be in heaven until the city of God, “The New Jerusalem” descends from the third heaven to a newly created earth (Rev. 21:2).
