Problem Situation: Small scale Problem Situation: Small scale fisher folk in Trinidad and Tobago are vulnerable to attacks at sea and seek various means of reducing their risk. • Due to the isolated nature of their occupation, fisher folk are vulnerable to theft and violent attacks, and are usually faced with superior firepower.

At-Sea Emergency Response Tool • ASERT allows users to be monitored and authorities notified. • Unique features include the peer to peer, aspect where fisher folk look out or each other, and secondary features such as location tagging. • ASERT is web based, major features such as peer locations and landings are in place. • The tool is viable over areas with adequate communications coverage. • Fisher folk, maritime users, and maritime authorities are the most prominent stakeholders. • http://screenr.com/Ne5s
