National Center for Physical AcousticsResearch Fields Atmospheric Acoustics Sonic boom propagation, traffic noise and military noise impact. Porous Media Dam and levee monitoring, personnel detection and standoff detection of explosives. Infrasound Propagation of low frequency sound outdoors and the development of specialized hardware to monitor this sound. Aero-Acoustics Jet noise, combustion and acoustic induced vibration Material Sciences Composite materials and high temperature superconductors.
