  14. Early Life • Born 1955, California • Grew up with parents who spoilt him • In 1970s set up Apple Computers with Steve Wozniak • The company was set up in Job’s parents garage and their first computer was the Apple

  15. 1980s • Apple grew rapidly during the booming computer industry and their Graphical User Interface proved popular with users • In 1987 following a dispute with the company's Managing Director Jobs was fired from Apple by the board of directors • Jobs later described this as the best thing that could have happened to him • He set up NeXT computers and had limited success

Return to Apple • Apple had very limited success in the 1990s losing out Microsoft in the PC market • Apple was on the brink of bankruptcy in 1997 when jobs returned • He launched the first iMac which was the first computer to break the convention of dull computers and included a suite of useful software
