Ex: Uncertainty calc for titration It takes 40.00 mL of NaOH to titrate 0.8000 grams of KHP. -What is concentration of NaOH and what is the uncertainty in that concentration?
Procedure for Propagation of Uncertainty • Write out calculation (on paper) used to determine final answer. • Figure out which values in calc have uncertainty. • For each value with uncertainty, determine what this uncertainty is. If a calc was involved in obtaining that value, write out that calc • Once the uncertainty for value in question is determined, write it above the value in the calculation • Use propagation of uncertainty rules to determine uncertainty in your final value.
