  9. Sobering Statistics Unemployment Rates • Iowa: 4.9% Wapello: 6.1% Ottumwa: 7.1% Poverty-16% Child Abuse Cases - #4 Food Insecurity–14.8% Child Food Insecurity-24.1% On Free and/or reduced lunch program – 65% Drop out rate – 17% County Health Ranking(s) – bottom 5 since 2010 Uninsured – 11%

  13. “Consortium at Large” Activities – con’t • 2nd Reception - June 10, 2013 • 25 people present (8 represented new organizations) • Examined the summary report in small groups/ discussion • 3rdMeeting - August 26, 2013 • 23 in attendance • Introduced new consultant – Amber Payne, MSW/MPH • Hopes and Fears • Announced forming Working Group for Phase 1 • ACE Training w/Dr. Robert Anda & Frank Grijalva – Sept. 13, 2013 • Bridge View Center – Ottumwa Iowa • 1st Meeting of the Consortium Work Group – Sept. 17, 2013 • 16 have agreed to serve • Hopes, Fears and Outcomes • Changed name to “Security” from “Insecurity” • Most likely will change again to reflect a community approach
