About Chang Laoshi • Education • MS Ed, Childhood Multicultural Education, State University of New York at Geneseo. • BBA, Applied Foreign Languages, Shih Chien University • Teaching Experience • Starting my third year at Yinghua as third grade teacher • Previous college Chinese language teaching experience in New York and elementary/ middle school EFL teaching experience in Taiwan • Personal • Born and raised in Taiwan • Native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, fluent in English, conversant in Japanese • Enjoy traveling, movies, and photography

  8. Planner • Our planners are wonderful.  Children are expected to bring their planner home each night and back to school each day.  Please review the planner with your child daily.  You may also use the planner as a means to communicate with me. (E-mail is also welcome)

  9. Homework • We have homework Monday-Friday. Homework has to be submitted everyday morning. Homework announcement will be written in the planners before children go home everyday. Kids are responsible for handing in their planners and homework to me every morning.

  10. Homework Expectations • CLA: Write every characters in pencil neatly. If the character is messy, it will be circled and corrections are needed. • Math: “8 steps of model drawing” • Science and Social Studies: complete worksheets before the end of each unit

Homework • Student Responsibilities:    •  Listen in class and learn how to do the skills for the assignments    •  Ask questions if the information isn’t clear    •  Do neat and accurate work to the best of your ability •  Complete assignments without constant reminders from your teacher • Write the daily homework assignments everyday    • Correct mistakes and return homework on the next dayParent Responsibilities:    •  Show interest in your child’s work    •  Provide a suitable time and place for completing assignments    •  Allow enough time to complete the work    •  Reinforce and review a skill needed in the assignment    •  Provide positive motivation!    •  Praise a job well done!
