  3. Strategy • National Reading Offer includes Booktime, Bookstart Bear Club • Cultural Education DfE/DCMS 2013: Booktrust bookgifting referenced • Children's Laureate Malorie Blackman champion for libraries • Dads Reading Campaign launched at West Greenwich library with HRH Duchess of Cornwall

  4. New Booktrust Initiatives 2013 • Read For My School with Pearson engaged over 100,000 children in reading competition • Best Book Awards with Kindle. 900 organisations registered so far including libraries • Children's Book Week 2013 - vote for 100 best books • Stories Tour

Stories Tour • Funded by ACE, endorsed by SCL • Interactive stories tour for children 3-5 years and their families • Targeted at audiences from Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Somali communities • Award winning author Irfan Master helped devise the story • Events to be held in 10 areas in libraries, prisons and community venues
