Flooring • Look for: • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) wood • Locally grown • Recovered wood • Bamboo • Cork • Other reclaimed materials
Flooring (2) • Cork – renewable resource, use on floors or walls, wide variety of new colors and styles
Flooring (3) • Engineered - Hakwood and EcoTimber - FSC certified flooring is an important choice, as global consumption of wood is expected to rise 50% in next 4 decades
Flooring (4) • Solid Hardwood- MA Co-Op, River Recovery, FSC are all great choices; try to keep it local
Flooring (5) • EcoLux – luxury gilded flooring uses bamboo or FSC wood substrate with all natural materials
Wall Coverings • Look for: • Recycled content • Reclaimed material • No off-gassing • Companies that follow environmentally-friendly business practices
