CULTURAL POLICY The work of a museum is regulated by: • The Law on Culture • The Law on Cultural Assets • The Law on activities with special interest in culture • Other regulations related to culture Cultural Policy in Serbia is governed by authorities at the level of: • REPUBLIC • PROVINCE • CITY • MUNICIPALITY The main goals of Cultural Policy are: • domestic and international legislation – establisment and EU compliance • creating national data base of cultural assets • creating acreditation model for public and private institutions as well as personal licences • affirmation of significant centres • aplying principlesof business policy • networking at national and regional levels – international co-operation • intensifying co-operation between institutions of culture and science • inproving contacts with public • digitalization of the records of cultural assets • active media role in informing about conditions in the field of cultural heritage and the ........improvement of social responsibility
CENTRAL INSTITUTEFOR CONSERVATION - CIK CIK – interdisciplinary educational and scientific-research center, it is ranked with among institutes for research and development CIK enables: • forming a multidisciplinary professional and scientific base in a field of cultural heritage • organization of education at academic and professional level in colaboration with universities • appliance of multidisciplinary research in fields of preventive protection and conservation treatment • organization of unique documentation system in the field of protection • raising profesional level in heritage decisions • enhancing awareness of the importance and care of heritage preservation • improvement of comunication between all parts of the system of protection • wide range of publicity in all responsible institutions of government in the activities of heritage preservation
DIGITALIZATIONOF CULTURAL HERITAGE • The Ministry of Culture declared • digitalization of cultural heritage is a strategic priority, and • initiatied a National Strategy of Digitalization of Cultural Heritagein 2007 • The Goals of the National Strategy • protection of cultural heritage • increased accessibility to all materials which consituted ourcultural heritage • improvement of information technologies • creation of normative and infrastructural framework, which provides and .....inspires wide accessibility • use and exchange of cultural assets and ease of accession • widespread presentation of Serbian cultural heritage
