“All my waitings and watchings for Joy, all my vain hopes to lay my finger and say, ‘This is it,’ had been a futile attempt. All I ever could find would be an image. All images and sensations, if idolatrously mistaken for Joy itself, soon honestly confessed themselves inadequate.” C.S. Lewis

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be forall the people.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:10 – 12

“I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you:
Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:20 – 24
Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar ofrushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:6 – 7
