Internal Certification - Goals • Establish a baseline set of information that will serve as prerequisite knowledge for all XO Engineers across the country • Ensure our SE’s are well prepared to be professional representatives of XO Communications on customer engagements • Enhance the existing SE on boarding process with formalized training that can be tracked through the XO Learning Portal • Provide our Sales Engineering Team with XO Specific Technical Certification they can be proud of achieving • Use as part of the SE Career Path Roadmap from SEII to Principal Sales Engineer

Creation Process • Training was created for Sales Engineers by Sales Engineers • Step 1: Training modules and assessment tests created by your peers • Step 2: Preliminary review by Regional Principal SE and SE Leadership • Step 3: Suggestions and Modifications Implemented • Step 4: Final Review by National PSE and SE Leadership Teams • Step 5: Live Module Training Recorded into PowerPoint • Step 6: Modules and Assessment Test Posted to the XO Learning Portal

Internal Certification - Expectations • XO Internal Certification Catalog • Completed by all new hires within first 90 days as part of on boarding • Completed by all existing Sales Engineers by 2011 Annual Review • Assessment Tests on each individual module • Comprehensive Test covering entire Internal Certification Catalog • XO Certified Engineer * • XO Internal Certification Catalog • CienaR202 • 1 Industry Certification (CCDA/JNCIA) • Completed by all sales engineers by 2011 Annual Review • *Applies to all Engineers Hired Prior to August 31, 2011

  7. Internal Certification - Levels • XO Engineer who has completed the following: • XO Internal Certification • Ciena R202 • At Least 1 Industry Certification (CCDA, JNCIA) • XO Engineer who has completed the following certifications: • XOCE – XO Certified Engineer • 1 Additional Industry Certification (CCDA, JNCIA) • 1 Industry Specialty Certification (CCNA Voice) • 1 XO Specialist Certification (XOCS – VoIP) CERTIFIED CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SPECIALIST -VoIP X O C P X O C S (In development for 2012) • XO Engineer who has completed the following certifications: • XOCE – XO Certified Engineer • Additional Industry Certifications (CCDA, JNCIA) • All XO Specialist Certifications (XOCS-VoIP, Security, etc) • 1 Industry Professional Level Certification (CCNP) (In development for 2012)
