Physical Activity: • Reduces feelings of Depression & Anxiety • Related to higher levels of self esteem • Fosters healthy social and emotional development
Preliminary Data shows that physical activity may improve: A+ • Academic Performance • Alertness in class

Current Status of Physical Activity of U.S. Youth
Almost 50% of young people in U.S. are not vigorously active on a regular basis
Kids Walk-to-School • Percent of overweight kids ages 6 to 11 has risen over 100% in last 30 yrs
Kids Walk-to-School • Overweight children are more likely to become obese adults • Obese adults at are risk for heart disease, and cancer
