And even more… • Extract from key note address to the LGA conference (17/11/04) on information Sharing by Baroness Ashton, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Department for Constitutional Affairs “A key outcome emerging from the FAME project is the development of information sharing protocols.  My Department's guidance, which was launched to the public in 2003, deals with the complex, high level, legal aspects of data sharing.  I now believe that we need to build on this and that front line practitioners need a tool that will complement the Guidance, a tool that will take them through the operational process for identification of enabling legislation and application of the Data Protection Act in specific scenarios. FAME has produced some excellent products, which my Department will be looking very closely at.  The school of thought adopted by the FAME project, works on the premise that in the case of a majority of data sharing cases there is sufficient  enabling legislation available.” • David Johnstone, Director of Social Services, Devon County Council, Chair of the ADSS Standards and Performance Committee • “The FAME National Project provides Local Authorities with key tools for implementing multi‑agency working.   Every Agency is facing a real challenge in implementing the processes and the technology needed to co-ordinate their work with other agencies in helping the most vulnerable members of our society.
