Kings County Mobile & Remote Desktop Technology CWS afterhours workers currently use laptop with aircard for internet access Laptop devices uses Netmotion application to establish secured connection to the county CPS\APS\IHSS workers phone have recently been updated to an iPhone with county email access for effective communication when working offsite

  4. Surface ProRemote Desktop Technology Benefits of Surface Pro: Mobility Laptop in tablet form Boot time is remarkably fast Compatible with Windows environment and most office applications Compact and lightweight device

Kings County Policies and Configurations for Surface Pro • VPN access agreement need to be signed by user approved by Department head prior granting access • User had options to use CWS web access using token or RDP to workstation to use CWS CMS application • Hotspot device with secured connection setup provided with Surface Pro. It also allows multiple devices connected to the same wifi.

Kings County Policies and Configurations for Surface Pro • Surface Pro device is managed by County using GPO’s and Scriptlogic • Antivirus and Cisco Iron Port for Outlook installed on the device • County credentials required to login (Surface Pro, VPN, RDP) • CWS workstations are encrypted (McAfee Agent) • Users are only allowed to RDP to their assigned workstation

  7. Login to device using domain credentials • Connect to Wi-Fi

  8. Connect to VPN (domain login)

  9. Internet connection will show limited once VPN connection is established

  10. Connect to workstation using RDP

  11. Connect to workstation using RDP

  12. RDP connection requires domain login

  13. Once logged in users can now access County network drives and CWS CMS application
