Who invented the Sewing Machine? • Thomas Saint an Englishman, panted the first sewing machine. • Elias Howe really didn’t invent the sewing machine he invented the first practical sewing machine sold and bought by users.
Who invented the sewing machine? • Even though Thomas Saint was the true inventor in 1790 users didn’t ever buy his invention , until Howe invented the same invention in 1846.
How did the Sewing Machine affect peoples lives? • The Sewing Machine put many people out of work, because it was doing every body’s job for them. • This caused workers not to get paid as much as they did before the invention came out. • Lots of angry workers went into Barth’elemy Thiner’s office.
The workers destroyed all of the inventions including the sewing machine. • The people even had the idea that if they killed Barth'elemy then the sewing machine would never come back, but he didn’t die.
What’s different about the first sewing machine to the modern ones now? • First sewing machine • Didn’t use needles instead used awls • Could sew canvas and leather. • You would crank a lever to lower the needle and to sew it you used the peddles like you were riding a bike.
What’s different about the first sewing machine to the modern ones now? • Modern A needle that goes in and out the fabric. The needles are not thick and strong enough to sew through strong material. Have a foot peddle u step on and it automatically sews.
