JIT • Just in time (JIT) is a production strategy that strives to improve a business return on investment by reducing in-process inventory and associated carrying costs. • Just-in-time production method is also called the Toyota Production System.
5S • 5S is the name of a workplace organization method that uses a list of fiveJapanese words: • seiri, - sorting • seiton, - straightening • seiso, - systematic cleaning • seiketsu, - standardizing • andshitsuke - sustaining
TPM • Total Productive Maintenance, shortly termed as TPM, is the concept originated and developed by Japan Institute of plant Maintenance (JIPM) Tokyo, • TPM means to achieve high level of productivity, through total participation of all people inside the organisation and then developing self -managing abilities in people and practices.
TPM is based on zero-loss concept viz., zero break downs, zero accidents, zero defect etc., primarily to achieve high reliability/flexibility of equipment and reduce costs through minimising wastage of man hours, raw material, power, tools etc.

TQM • total quality management (TQM) is a management approach to long–term success through customer satisfaction. • In a TQM effort, all members of an organization participate in improving processes, products, services, and the culture in which they work.
Deming Prize • The Deming Prize is one of the highest awards on TQM (Total Quality Management) in the world. It was established in 1951 • JUSE – Japanese Union for Science and Technology
Quality Control • Quality control, or QC for short, is a process by which entities review the quality of all factors involved in production. • Quality control is a process that is used to ensure a certain level of quality in a product or service.
Kaizen • The word Kaizen means "continuous improvement". It comes from the Japanese words 改 ("kai") which means "change" or "to correct" and 善 ("zen") which means "good".
Significances • Everyone is encouraged to come up with small improvement suggestions on a regular basis. This is not a once a month or once a year activity. It is continuous.
ISO • The International Organization for Standardization widely known as ISO, is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. • Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promulgates worldwide proprietary, industrial, and commercial standards. • It has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
