  3. WHY CARRY OUT AN AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT? • Under Part IV of the Environment Act 1995 Local Authorities must complete Air Quality Review and Assessments to safeguard public health • Rugby In Plume • Other Public Interest

  4. Completed following guidance published by Defra LAQM.TG(03) Updating & Screening Assessment Detailed Assessment All reports are reviewed by Defra AIR QUALITY REVIEW AND ASSESSMENT

BACKGROUND TO AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT Air Quality Regulations 2002 Health based criteria for key pollutants Exposure and averaging periods Dust nuisance issues Main sources of pollution Road traffic (Rugby BC, County Council & Highways Agency) Industrial sources (Rugby BC & Environment Agency)_

All reports will be made available electronically once approved by Defra Hard copy of reports in Public Library Air quality monitoring data Quarterly reports containing ratified data Unratified data currently provided fortnightly Live data access will be provided ACCESS TO AIR QUALITY DATA AND REPORTS
