  2. Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you. Ps 142:2 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? Ps 129:3

  3. O LORD, we acknowledge our wickedness and the guilt of our fathers; we have indeed sinned against you. Jer 14:20 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Is 64:6

  4. I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. Correct me, LORD, but only with justice– not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing. Jer 10:23s Treat us according to your kindness and your great mercy. Dan 3,42

  5. In spite of our sins, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Do not be angry beyond measure, O LORD; do not remember our sins forever.Is 64:8s

  6. You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Turn to me and have mercy on me. Ps 86:15-16 Remembe, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Ps 25:6

  7. You are merciful to all, because you are almighty, you overlook people's sins, so that they can repent. Yes, you love everything that exists, and nothing that you have made disgusts you, since, if you had hated something, you would not have made it. And how could a thing subsist, had you not willed it? Or how be preserved, if not called forth by you? No, you spare all, since all is yours, Lord, lover of life! Wis 11:23-26

  8. God, create in me a clean heart, renew within me a resolute spirit. Give me back the joy of your salvation, sustain in me a generous spirit… a broken, contrite heart you never scorn.Ps 51:10.12.17

  9. I will leave this place and go to my father and say: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son... When the father saw him, was moved with pity. He ran to the boy, clasped him in his arms and kissed him. Lk 15:18.20

  10. There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety-nine upright people who have no need of repentance. Lk 15:7
