2. SUGAR4 The Complete Software for the Sugar Industry The History of SUGAR4 1992.Home Resources start work on a sugar farm management software. 1994.The software is dubbed SUGAR2 and field tested. This was the DOS–based predecessor of SUGAR4. 1996.SUGAR2 was touted in the August edition of the PHILSURIN Update as “ideal for data gathering on a large scale for integration into a national or global database”. 1998.SUGAR3, a Windows-based upgrade to SUGAR2 is released to the public. This upgrade took advantage of the new technologies to handle the Y2K bug. 2003.SUGAR4 is launched as a the complete Sugarcane Farm Management Software. No longer limited to the plantation, SUGAR4 continues to pave the way for an Industry-wide network. 2005.
