(Program Director) (Educational Consultant) Introduction Admission Requirements Admission Procedures and Application NSU College of Optometry has developed a two-year, 45-credit on-line Master of Science program in Clinical Vision Research (CVR). This program is designed to assist optometrists, optometric educators, optometric students, as well as other health-care professionals to extend their carrier opportunities by developing and enhancing their abilities to design, develop, perform, analyze, and evaluate research projects and studies. This innovative program includes curricula leading to a Graduate Certificate or a Master of Science degree in CVR. Following completion of the program, CVR graduates will find themselves well prepared to face the challenges of contributing to the research and knowledge-base of their profession. To be admitted to the Master of Science program in CVR, applicants must have completed one of the following requirements: earned a post-baccalaureate degree or earned a baccalaureate degree with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and a minimum score of 1000 on both the verbal and quantitative parts of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Candidates for admission are responsible for the submission of the following documentation in order for their application to be considered: a completed application form with a $ 75 non-refundable application fee; one letter of evaluation from an individual such as an academic instructor, professor, optometrist, other health professional, or employer; and an official academic transcript sent directly from each college or university that the candidate has attended. A transcript is required from each college or university even though transfer credit from one college may appear on another college's transcript. Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, Optometry Admission Test (OAT) scores, or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) scores are required only if the candidate does not have a post-baccalaureate professional degree.
