The Waterfall • Come on and try out swimming in our pool with a waterfall. • Dive in our deep water section. • Watch in amazement how the flow of the water from the waterfall gently and calmly combine with the water already in the pool. Cohesion allows water to stick to each other. This is why the water from a separate source (the waterfall) can easily mix in with the standing water. Home

The Pier Shops at Atlantis • Purchase luxury goods and items from our pier shop. • Designer brands such as Apple and Coach are available • 5-star restaurants for you to dine in. • The Pier shops at Atlantis floats on top of the ocean surface with minimal support from beams. • Fact: Water has a density of 1.0. Salt water’s density is greater than 1.0 which allows more things to float. The Pier Shops at Atlantis has a density lower than 1 therefore floats on the ocean. Home

7. The Pools at Atlantis • The pools at the water park won’t get warm until past 2:00PM. The pools also won’t get cold until past 10:00PM (assuming summer time weather). Water gets heated up by the sun (outdoor pool). • However, the sun sets around 8:30, so why does the pool retain the heat well? • Fact: Water’s Specific heat is relatively high which means that it takes more energy to change the temperature of the water. • Specific heat: the amount of energy needed to raise of temperature of a substance by 1 degree. • Water’s specific heat capacity also helps the earth retain its global temperature. This happens in a way that is sort of like the pool. • The sidewalk on the other hand gets really hot quickly. Make sure you buy sandals at the Pier Shops. Home

25.   Hello Everyone, it is Andy Hoang once again with the usual question on "how prepared are you for the test?". First, i like to recap the unit. We learned quite a bit in unit 4 on triangles, but unit 5 gave us additional information on special triangles. Wow! Triangles must be some special shape. When you look around in the world, triangles are dominant in almost every place (except street signs). Now, i have learned quite a lot from this unit. I now can figure out that to get the biggest piece of cake with the frosting borders, i have to get the hypotenuse side.  Anyways, what helped you or what will you study to prepare for the test? 1. Classzones (always helpful) • 2. Review your notes a couple times • 3. Read all the dicussion board posts (they may have some answers to unanswered questions) • So, how prepared are you for the test?  • A) A-Day: Prepared like the soldiers for D-Day. Can do it now and breeze by it while still getting a 100.B) Great: I can do it and get a 100 • C) B-Day: I still need to get the finishing touches of studying done. I can easily get a 100 • D) OK: If i took it now, i might get a C, so i will not. I will instead study tonight and take it tomorrow. I can probably pass it with at least an 80. • E) D-Day: If i took it now, i might get a D. I need some studying to do.
