Warm-up activity Instruction: Teacher gives some pictures. Then teacher asks students for answers for each picture by using simple past.
Picture 1 Last weekend, she prepared for dinner
Picture 2 Last Sunday, she helped her mother to cook.
Picture 3 The little boy watched TV some hours ago.
The last picture Yesterday, the little girl listened to pop music.
Teacher asks student to tell her what they did on weekend. Students will work in pairs or group. Then they will report in front of class.For example: What did you do on your weekend?Or How was your weekend?Last weekend, I visited my grandparents, I helped my grandmother do houseworks.
Teacher shows the way to pronounce -ed endings. The –ed ending has three different pronunciation in English 1. In words that end with a voiceless consonant, it is pronounced as /t/Examples:1. looked2. asked3. helped4. laughed5. pushed6. watched7. dressed8. boxed Words that end with “K, p, ch, ss, x, gh, sh” when add –ed , we pronounce as /t/.
2.In words ending with /t/ or /d/, it is pronounced as a separate syllable, /id/. Examples: 1. Needed2. Defended3. Added4. Loaded5. Waited6. Rested7. counted8. halted
3. In words that end with a voiced consonant or a vowel, it is pronounced as /d/. Examples:1. Enjoyed2. Dried3. roamed

Listen and repeat these sentences - Yesterday, my friend went to the supermarket , prepared dinner, washed dishes.
