  2. What Are Fleas and Ticks? Fleas : Small, wingless insects that feed on blood. Can jump great distances. It causes itching, and irritation, and can lead to allergic reactions. Ticks : Arachnids (related to spiders) also feed on blood. Found in grassy and wooded areas. Can transmit diseases like Lyme disease.
