  1. How to Run This Slide Show The usual PowerPoint presentation is a very linear affair, you just move from one slide to the next. If you try that with this one, you will get totally messed up as it uses hyperlinks to arrange the order of the slides. So, use the mouse to click on the forward and back arrows at the top of the slide to move to the next or previous slide. DESCRIPTION • A friendly competition among 4 Clubs in the PNW region (plus Idaho) • The winner is the club with the greatest total number of contest points accumulated in major contests during the Sep to Jul contest season • The Trophy is presented to the winning club at the PNW DX Convention By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

MEMBERSHIP • For a member's points to count for a particular contest she must: • Be a member in good standing of at least one of the clubs at the time of the contest • Have operated from a station located within the Overall Club Region Boundary • Doesn't have to be a member's station By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

  19. SINGLE OP • The points earned by a Single-Op member in a particular contest is equal to the claimed raw score made in the contest • No supporting documentation required - just the claimed score • Doesn't matter who owns the station • Doesn’t matter whose call is used By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

  21. AT A MEMBER'S STATION • Any member's station - doesn't matter which Club • The total points made by the station are divided equally among the members. • Non-members are ignored in this calculation • EXAMPLE By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

  22. MEMBER’S STATION POINTS EXAMPLE • VE7UM makes 1M points. He has 10 newbie ops who don't belong to any of the clubs, himself, 2 ops from WWDXC and 1 from BCDXC • The members each get 1/4 of the total points or 250K to allocate as they see fit • Normally this would mean that Orca gets 1/4 = 250k points, WWDXC gets 2/4 = 500k and BCDXC gets 1/4 = 250k By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

  23. AT A NON-MEMBER'S STATION • Each member receives a pro-rata share of the points made by the station based on the total number of operators, including non-members • EXAMPLE By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

  24. NON-MEMBER’S STATION POINTS EXAMPLE • VE7XYZ (a non-member) makes 4M points • There are 8 ops • 1 belongs to BCDXC and 2 to Orca. The rest are non-members • Each member gets 1/8 = 500k points to allocate as they see fit • Normally this would mean that BCDXC would get 500K and Orca would get 1M By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

  27. WHAT IS 3830? • Back in the day at the end of a contest a number of folks would gather at 3830 kHz to announce their raw scores and swap stories about the contest • Raw scores and stories can now be found at http://lists.contesting.com/_3830/ By VE7FO Version 0_1_0

HOW DO WE KNOW HOW WE’RE DOING? • Once the deadline for a particular contest has passed, the PNW Cup Coordinators at each club post all their member's scores to a common spreadsheet • Each club posts the spreadsheet on their website • Here's what it looks like (online version) By VE7FO Version 0_1_0
