Conserve™ 11.6% SC (Dow AgroSciences) • Insecticide/Miticide derived from a naturally occurring organism. • Applications limited to 3 consecutive applications, and 10 times in 12 months. • Controls thrips, leafminers, caterpillars, spider mites, adult fungus gnats and shoreflies.
Conserve™ 11.6% SC (Dow AgroSciences) • Rates are from 0.5-1.25 tsp/gal, or 6-22 oz/100 gal. • Higher rates for spider mites only. • Research shows a surfactant is necessary for good mite control. • Reduced risk pesticide, 4 hour REI
Distance® 11% EC(Valent) • Insect growth regulator with translaminar systemic activity. Treated eggs are usually inviable, immature stages are kept from molting, and adults are sterilized. • Foliar sprays control leafminers, scale, mealybugs and whiteflies. Soil sprays or drenches for fungus gnat and shorefly larvae.
Distance® 11% EC(Valent) • Rates 1/3 to 1/2 tsp/gal, 6-8 oz/100 gal for all except scale and mealybugs (1/2 to 2/3 tsp/gal, 8-12 oz/100 gal). • Applications are limited to no more than 2 times per crop cycle, or 2 times in 6 months.
Distance® 11% EC(Valent) • Supplemental label for tomatoes has been approved for Virginia – must have label in possession. • See label for phytotoxicity warnings. • Reduced risk pesticide, 12 hr REI.
Endeavor™ 50WG(Syngenta) • Translaminar systemic insecticide for aphids and whitefly with a 2-3 week residual against aphids and 1-2 weeks against whiteflies. • Unique mode of action stops feeding within hours, death follows by starvation in 2-4 days.
Endeavor™ 50WG(Syngenta) • Packaged in 2.5 oz water soluble packets. • 2.5-5.0 oz/100 gal as a foliar spray. High rate equals 1 Tbsp/5 gal. • Reduced risk pesticide, 12 hour REI. • Selective pest range makes it a good candidate for IPM programs.
Floramite™(Uniroyal Chemical Co., Inc.) • Quick knockdown, residual up to 21 days, non-systemic activity. • Controls motile stages of mites. • Ovicidal activity on two-spotted spider mites (only). • Safe on many beneficials including predacious mites.
Floramite™(Uniroyal Chemical Co., Inc.) • Label calls for two applications of a different miticide chemistry before reapplication permitted. • Highly alkaline (>150 ppm) water reduces effectiveness. • Reduced risk pesticide, REI is 4 hrs.
Marathon® II(Olympic Horticultural Products) • Flowable formulation. Systemic control from foliar or soil surface sprays, 12 hr REI. • Labeled pests include aphids, Japanese beetles, lacebugs, leafhoppers, leafminers, mealybugs, whiteflies, and several grubs when applied as a soil surface spray.
Marathon® II(Olympic Horticultural Products) • Apply 1.7 oz/100 gal (1/2 tsp/5 gal) of water) as a foliar spray. • Residual control from foliar sprays lasts 14 to 28 days. • Many vegetable transplants appear on the label which reads, “Only for use on vegetable plants intended for resale”.
Marathon® II(Olympic Horticultural Products) • Not a quick knockdown on whiteflies, use before pest populations are high. • Low volume mist applications are approved, including thermal foggers. • The label recommends that a Marathon G or WSP and a Marathon II treatment not be made to the same crop.
