Key Objectives • Undergo comprehensive research and analysis of groups that are working on leadership issues within disciplines that crosswalk with behavioral health • Including disciplines outside of health (e.g., pediatrics, primary care, education, faith-based organizations, etc.) • Begin a dialogue with the groups that most closely align with the goals of the ACMHA Emerging Leaders.
Potential Impact • To work toward building on the integration efforts of senior level leadership in the field of behavioral health to facilitate “buy in” from other fields as well as address workforce development issues.
Proposed Benchmark Goals / Timeline for Implementation • Phase I – Months 1-5 (June –October 2010) • Cast wide net researching which organizations have groups addressing emerging leadership issues or engage with emerging leaders in a meaningful way. • Develop systems and processes • Construct a set of criteria for involvement • Monthly calls to track progress • Compile the research and develop a summary report based on the findings
Proposed Benchmark Goals / Timeline for Implementation • Phase II – Months 6-10 (November 2010 – March 2011) • Make contact with the groups that meet criteria established in Phase I to begin early dialogue and identify points of connectivity • Develop a system that captures the process by which leaders approach other leaders • Begin building tools that measure collaboration for use in Phase III • Submit an interim report to the ACMHA Emerging Leaders meeting at the Spring 2011 Summit.
Proposed Benchmark Goals / Timeline for Implementation • Phase III – Year Two (April 2011 – March 2012) • Plan a meeting that includes identified representatives from the organizations with whom the subgroup has been in dialogue to • Explore future collaborative efforts, and • Identify objectives of a proposed “integrated” Emerging Leaders group.
