Welcome to IPC!! Coach Fee’s Integrated Physics & Chemistry Class August 26, 2013
Rules for 2013-2014 • Laws protect us as citizens in the community, state and country. • Within the classroom, rules should do the same thing • If the rule doesn’t create a safer environment for you and others…then it isn’t a rule. • Rules are not to make life any less fun…trust me!
Rules • Do not get up for any reason. I will address your needs from where you are. • No arguing. Arguing leads to fighting. Fighting is also illegal! Above all else, someone is going to get hurt. • Do not insult any of your classmates or myself. There will be times where we can have fun as a group but never at any one else’s expense. We are a FAMILY. • RESPECT the individual and their; belongings, space, feelings, and appearance. • Follow all lab safety rules exactly. This is a circle of protection…if you don’t follow the rules, you end up outside circle, and more than likely you will be hurt.
Procedures for 2013-2014 • Think of any situation that might come up in one 50 minute class period. • Hopefully each procedure directly correlates to or broadly covers each of those situations you are thinking. • Procedures are how to get things done. • i.e.Turning in homework, sharpening a pencil, entering and leaving the room.
Procedures • Enter with a calm and positive attitude • Make sure you enter the room with all of your materials. (Book, Pen, Paper, Notebook, & Good Attitude) • Turn in all assignments at the beginning of class and in an orderly way, stacking them in the middle of your tables, and I will pick them up in a timely manner. • Always check the board for; announcements, assignments, and bellwork. • After you have entered the room with a calm attitude, you should be in your seat working on bellwork when I come in from greeting people.
Procedures Continued • When you come back from an absence, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed, I will get to you what you need. Yes you did miss something so always ask! • After I dismiss you by row or table at the end of the period, please leave the same way you entered. Push your chairs in when you leave. Remember, the bell doesn’t dismiss you, I DO. • In the event of an emergency, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND DO NOT SPEAK. Listen to ME for your next set of instructions so no one is hurt. • If I have to leave the room for any reason, you are to continue on your work and stay quiet, just as if I was there.
Procedures Continued • If you are going to be sick, please grab the nearest trash can and leave the room to the nearest restroom. Afterwards, please return so I may give you a pass to the nurse. • If you ever finish your assignment with left over time in class, please feel free to work ahead and get some homework done, or catch up on any missing assignments that you might have. • If you are found to not be able to follow the preceding Rule or Procedures; I have a “Reminder Book”* that will be used to address those situations on an individual basis.
**Disclaimer** • I, Coach Fee, reserve the right to change, modify, add to, or remove any one of the rules/procedures at any point during the day, month, or school year.
Miscellaneous • Homework may be given on any day. Due dates are expected to be met, but I do understand that situations arise. Please let me know if you need more time. That is for bigger homework assignments. Expect smaller checks for understanding or assessments to come on any day. • Test days are “USUALLY” Fridays. • It is my job to prepare you for a business world. I promise to do my part. You need to do yours in order for this to be a successful year.
