  3. Cesar Chavez was an American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist. He helped found the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA), which helped farm workers gain fair wages and gave them a voice in the country. He even spoke in front of the U.S. Congress, asking them to pay more attention to the unfair conditions farm workers had to endure. The NFWA put out a weekly newspaper that was read by thousands of farm workers and other people, and helped to gain national attention about the need to change farm policies. Practice
