INTRODUCTION • Every successful set up, organization or institution you can definitely outline some good practices they employ in their operations. • One way this can be achieved is the quality usage of Brochure, Notice or newsletters. • To effectively deal with this project one key concept we definitely need to keep mind is the “visual hierarchy” • that the objects with highest contrast to their surroundings are recognized first by the human mind.
Creating an effective Notice A notice should contain all the necessary details such as: • Name of the issuing agency (school, organization, etc) • Subject and date of issue/release of the notice • Event (This explains “what”?) • Date/time/duration (This explains “when”?) • Place/Venue (This explains “where”?) • Authorized signatory: Name and signature (Admin, 2012)

Creating an Effective Brochure Brochure emphasis the fact that your customer can touch it, flip the pages, and absorb the benefits of your product or information you are putting out there. • Design and Layout: Your design and layout of inside pages should work well with the content. • Usage of Headers: Use benefit-driven headers and sub-headers to catch the reader’s eye. • Fold: plan the structure ahead whether you want it to be a single-fold, bi-fold or tri-fold brochure. • Make sure the brochure’s visual elements – color, imagery, font, logo, etc. – align with and support your brand. Consistency of brand image is a key ingredient in earning your prospect’s trust. (Jensen, 2012)
Creating an Effective Newsletter Company newsletters include periodic updates, news, promotions and events communicated in print or electronic form. • A descriptive title: Your title needs to express clearly what your newsletter is all about. • Success stories: Feature your customer's success, show how you helped them, but the key is to talk about how they became successful. Inspire your readers!. • Contact Information: Your client/customer needs to know how to reach you either by email, phone, facebook, etc. • When it was sent (day, date, and issue number): By doing this you keep your clients up to date. • Interview employees: Take this one step further and interview employees. Write about their work, their habits; show your readers the people behind the curtain.
Conclusion Despite the internet boom, print still influences peoples thinking today, in the form of newspapers, magazines, books, flyers, brochure, notice, etc. With this in mind proper features need to be applied in it creation when ever any one of them needs to be used in general office.
