  2. CONFLICT DIAMONDS Conflict diamonds, also known as blood diamonds are diamonds mined in conflict areas such as Sierra Leone under the rule of the rebels in the horrifying civil war. These diamonds are easily traded illegally around the world and enter the global markets in low prices in order to fund terrorist and rebel groups. The profit from these diamonds does not reach the people – which consequentially live in poverty, struggling to live while being physically and emotionally abused and even murdered.

  3. Things to Look When Buying a Diamond • Is it real? • how can I be sure that the diamond has been treated? • The four C’s ( Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight) • Ask for “Certificate of Origin”
