SOCIAL LETTERS • THESE ARE WRITTEN MAINLY TO FRIENDS AND RELATIVES, AND ARE USUALLY RATHER “INFORMAL” IN LANGUAGE.
BUISNESS LETTERS • THESE ARE WRITTEN BY PEOPLE IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR BUSINESSES OR WORK. THE LANGUAGE IS MORE “FORMAL” THAN THAT OF SOCIAL LETTER.
PRIVATE LETTERS • THESE ARE “FORMAL” LETTERS WHICH MANY PEOPLE MIGHT NEED TO WRITE FROM TIME TO TIME ABOUT MATTERS OTHER THAN THEIR BUSINESSES OR WORK.
